A registered dietitian for Paris, wherever you are in it

Paris sits at the meeting of the Grand and Nith Rivers in Brant County, often called one of the prettiest towns in Canada. For eating disorder care, though, it looks toward Hamilton, where the regional adult program is based, or toward Brantford for local health services. I work with people across Paris and Brant County by secure video.

Lauren is based in Guelph and Toronto and works virtually across Ontario. That means people in Paris can access specialized nutrition counselling without travelling to a clinic, while still working with someone registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.

If you searched for a dietitian in Paris

You may be looking for general nutrition advice, but many people land here because food has become louder than they want it to be. You might be dealing with restriction, binge eating, guilt after eating, fear foods, body checking, or feeling unsure whether your eating is serious enough to deserve support. It is enough to start a conversation.

What I help with

Every person who reaches out is met where they are. These are the main reasons people in Paris and across Ontario look for this kind of care:

Serving Paris and the surrounding area

Because care is virtual, I work with clients in Paris and nearby communities including Brantford, St. George, Ayr, and Burford, as well as people right across Ontario. From the river flats downtown to the county roads around town, the session comes to you. You do not need to live near a clinic to get thoughtful, registered dietitian support. You can also browse every Ontario city served.

Brant County and the program in Hamilton

For adults in Paris and the rest of Brant County, the regional specialized service is the Eating Disorders Program at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. It is an outpatient program for people aged sixteen and over who can work toward independent change, and reaching it means travelling to Hamilton.

It carries clear limits. There are no inpatient beds, and the program advises that a dangerously low weight needs more intensive care arranged through a physician. Young people under eighteen living at home in school are usually directed to the children's program at McMaster instead.

That leaves a real group in Brant County, adults whose struggle is binge eating, chronic dieting, food anxiety, or body image, who do not fit neatly into a program built mainly around anorexia and bulimia.

A dietitian is open to them without a referral and without an age cap. Sessions happen by secure video from home in Paris, and the approach is non-diet and weight-inclusive across the whole range of eating concerns.

If a family member does qualify for the Hamilton program, a dietitian can work alongside it toward the same goals. For everyone it cannot reach, this is a door that opens now rather than another referral.

None of it comes with judgment, and there is no wait to be told whether you fit. Lauren Hofstee is a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Ontario, registration number 15869. If it helps to read first, here is binge eating support.
