A registered dietitian for Hamilton, wherever you are in it

Hamilton is spread across an escarpment and takes longer to cross than the map suggests. I work with people right through the city online, so the session happens where you already are, whether that is Dundas, Stoney Creek, or a quiet room downtown.

Lauren is based in Guelph and Toronto and works virtually across Ontario. That means people in Hamilton can access specialized nutrition counselling without travelling to a clinic, while still working with someone registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.

If you searched for a dietitian in Hamilton

You may be looking for general nutrition advice, but many people land here because food has become louder than they want it to be. You might be dealing with restriction, binge eating, guilt after eating, fear foods, body checking, or feeling unsure whether your eating is serious enough to deserve support. It is enough to start a conversation.

What I help with

Every person who reaches out is met where they are. These are the main reasons people in Hamilton and across Ontario look for this kind of care:

Serving Hamilton and the surrounding area

Because care is virtual, I work with clients in Hamilton and nearby communities including Dundas, Ancaster, Stoney Creek, and the Golden Horseshoe, as well as people right across Ontario. You do not need to live near a clinic to get thoughtful, registered dietitian support. You can also browse every Ontario city served.

Hamilton is where Body Brave is based, and that is worth knowing

Body Brave is a Hamilton organization, and it is one of the more useful things anywhere on the Ontario map. Its own site states that its services are free of charge and that no referral is needed. It describes virtual recovery services available to individuals aged fourteen and older, and clinical support services available to individuals aged seventeen and older in Ontario, along with support groups, caregiver support, and training. It describes itself as weight-inclusive and 2SLGBTQIA+ friendly, and says it supports people at all stages of recovery with no diagnosis needed to join.

If cost is the thing standing between you and support, that is the first place to look, and I would rather say so than not. Private practice is paid for out of pocket or through extended health benefits. Free is not a lesser tier of care.

There is also something quietly instructive about Body Brave being headquartered here. The organization that sits in your own city delivers most of its work by video, across the country. That is not a compromise anyone settled for. It is what this field learned works, because eating disorder care needs to be frequent and consistent, and frequency is exactly what travel erodes.

Hamilton makes that point on its own. Between the mountain and the lower city, between Ancaster, Dundas, Stoney Creek and downtown, a fifteen kilometre appointment can be a forty minute problem. Meeting online removes the part of the week that was never the treatment.

What private nutrition counselling adds is the individual piece: one hour, one person, working through what regular and adequate eating actually looks like for you, what to do about the foods that frighten you, and how to make sense of hunger and fullness after they stopped being reliable. It sits alongside group support and alongside your physician rather than instead of either, and plenty of people do both at once rather than choosing. Group work and individual work tend to reach different parts of the same problem. If you want to see the full landscape first, there is a plain guide to eating disorder support across Ontario.
