Book a free intro callBelleville is the hospital hub of the Quinte region, the city the Bay of Quinte towns come to for care. For eating disorders, though, the specialized programs sit further east in Kingston, and what those programs will and will not accept matters a great deal here. I work with people across Belleville and the Quinte region by video.
Lauren is based in Guelph and Toronto and works virtually across Ontario. That means people in Belleville can access specialized nutrition counselling without travelling to a clinic, while still working with someone registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
You may be looking for general nutrition advice, but many people land here because food has become louder than they want it to be. You might be dealing with restriction, binge eating, guilt after eating, fear foods, body checking, or feeling unsure whether your eating is serious enough to deserve support. It is enough to start a conversation.

Every person who reaches out is met where they are. These are the main reasons people in Belleville and across Ontario look for this kind of care:
Nutrition support for anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, ARFID, orthorexia, and eating that feels frightening or out of control.
Compassionate, weight-inclusive care when food, exercise, rules, guilt, or body image have started to take over.
A non-diet approach to binge eating, emotional eating, and the restrict-binge cycle, without shame or more rules.
Gentle support for food anxiety, fear foods, avoidance, and the slow work of feeling safer around eating.
Help for chronic dieting, body checking, food guilt, and rebuilding trust with your body at a steadier pace.
Work with a Registered Dietitian online from anywhere in Ontario, with receipts for extended health reimbursement.
Because care is virtual, I work with clients in Belleville and nearby communities including Quinte West, Trenton, and the Bay of Quinte, as well as people right across Ontario. You do not need to live near a clinic to get thoughtful, registered dietitian support. You can also browse every Ontario city served.
Belleville does not have a specialized eating disorder program, so for public treatment people in the Quinte region generally look east to Kingston. The adult eating disorder program at Kingston Health Sciences Centre is a genuine regional resource, but it is worth knowing its criteria before you rely on it.
That program states plainly that it does not accept referrals for binge eating disorder or for avoidant restrictive food intake disorder, known as ARFID, and it works with people who are medically stable and at a body mass index of sixteen or above. Those are reasonable limits for one program to set, but they mean a real group of people in Belleville with a genuine eating disorder are not eligible for the nearest public option, and are often left without a clear next step.
Private virtual nutrition counselling has no such catchment or diagnosis filter. Binge eating, ARFID, and disordered eating that does not fit a hospital's criteria are exactly the kind of work it is suited to, and it can begin without a referral. If you do qualify for and want the Kingston program, this can run alongside it with your consent.
It is worth naming that being turned away by the nearest program, or reading that your particular diagnosis is not accepted, can land as a message that your struggle is not serious enough to count. It is. Binge eating and ARFID are real eating disorders with real consequences, and the fact that one hospital program is not resourced to treat them says nothing about whether you deserve support. Private nutrition care treats them as what they are.
The approach is non-diet and weight-inclusive, which is particularly important for binge eating, where shame and restriction so often drive the cycle. Lauren Hofstee is a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Ontario, registration number 15869, working across Ontario online. There is a plain overview of support across the province, and a dedicated page on binge eating if that is what brought you here.
